To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the legendary Mini Cooper in 2022, Charlie Cooper, grandson of the visionary creator of the iconic car, John Cooper CBE, has donated an exclusive limited edition ‘JCW’ MINI to The Italian Job (www.italianjob.com) to help raise funds for children impacted by the pandemic.

The proceeds from the sale of this car will take the Italian Job beyond £3 million raised for children’s charities. The Italian Job recently celebrated 30 years of fundraising and last year its organisers Freddie and Giulia St George were both awarded MBEs for their fundraising efforts.

Barons will partner with Charlie Cooper and The Italian Job to auction a rare and unique example of this very limited-edition MINI on Friday 29th April.  Proceeds will go to grant-giving children’s charity Buttle UK (www.buttleuk.org) to fund their Chances for Children Grants and support children living in poverty across the UK.

The John Cooper Anniversary JCW MINI celebrates 60 years of the MINI Cooper in 2022 and has received design tweaks and styling from Charlie himself, grandson of the creator of the iconic Mini Cooper, John Cooper CBE.

Production of the car, built at Mini Plant Oxford, was limited to a global production of just 740 units, making it a very sought-after Limited Edition. All 740 units have been sold. The production run quantity is in homage to the number 74, the race number adorning the first ever Mini Cooper race car that drove to victory at Snetterton with John Love behind the wheel.

This example is a Cooper-Family owned ‘John Cooper Anniversary edition Hatch MINI’ and this is a once in the lifetime opportunity to own a very special car with a unique heritage. In addition to style tweaks, unique decals, and exclusive colours to trim, there are three generations of Cooper family signatures on the dashboard.  Charlie owns this brand-new car that has only recently rolled off the production line. The original retail value of the car was £35,500.

Charlie, and his father Mike, wanted to ensure the sale of this special car raises as much money as possible for the Italian Job and Buttle UK, decided jointly to add the Cooper-family-owned private registration W9RKS into the mix - as a special tribute to John Cooper’s heritage as an F1 champion.  The car unique registration alone has an estimated value of £4,500. The Cooper family will hand over the car to the winning bidder at a special presentation.
